Rituals of Memory
Kimberly Blaeser states that our lives, land, and cultures remain in a continuous loop that we cannot tear apart. She relates it to her friend's curly hair. She believes that our memories and stories we tell are the main purposes of our lives. Blaeser states that we come from many different cultures in our lives, not just one. She grew up catholic going to school, but she was also a part of Native American culture. Blaeser grew up strongly believing and supporting both cultures even though they were completely different. She believes each culture teaches differently but she explains that they both show who she truly is.
Summary Reflection
1. Explain the process you went through to write this summary. Please be specific.
I explained how she related her hair to her point, to support what she strongly believed in.
2. What qualifies this paper as a summary? What are the requirements for this genre and how did you meet them?
It sums up her main point of the story, I explained the basic idea of the story.
3. What piece of advice would you give someone writing a summary for the first time? Why?
Don't repeat everything that happens in the story just explain the main idea, because some of the information is not as important.
